Teachee is an AI tutoring app that builds personalized lessons for any subject. This page covers how learning works, how credits are used, and how to get support.

Getting started

1. Create an account at app.teachee.org.
2. Enter the learner’s birth year so lessons match the right age level.
3. New accounts receive 2 free lesson credits.
4. On the home screen, type any subject you want to learn (for example, “Photosynthesis” or “Spanish verbs”).

How learning works

Each subject follows the same flow:

1. Knowledge check — A short multiple-choice quiz finds what you already know and where you need practice.
2. Lesson — Teachee generates a narrated slide lesson with explanations, examples, and optional visuals. Generating a lesson uses 1 credit.
3. Homework — Complete the assignment with text or file uploads. AI feedback, stars, and next-step notes do not use a credit.
4. Next lesson — When you are ready, generate the next lesson (another credit) to keep building on what you learned.

You can return to any subject anytime from your conversation history.

Credits and pricing

• 1 credit = 1 generated lesson
• New users get 2 starter credits
• Homework feedback and follow-up questions do not spend credits
• Buy more credits in the app under Premium:

Credits stay on your account after checkout. Sign in before purchasing so they are saved to your profile.

Asking follow-up questions

After a lesson, you can ask questions about that subject:

• Free accounts: 3 questions per subject per day
• Active subscribers: 25 questions per subject per day

Questions must stay on topic for the current subject. Unrelated requests are declined so the tutor stays focused on what you are learning.

Stars, streaks, and progress

• Homework ratings award stars based on how well you did
• Studying on consecutive days builds a day streak
• The Mistake Notebook collects quiz mistakes and homework notes so you can review weak spots

Sharing lessons

You can share a lesson with a public, view-only link. Recipients do not need an account to read the shared lesson. Sharing does not give others access to your account or homework.

Reminders and settings

In Settings you can:

• Turn on optional daily study reminder emails (around 9am in your local time)
• Manage account preferences
• Unsubscribe from reminder emails anytime via the link in each message

Account and languages

• Sign in with Clerk (email or supported providers)
• App languages: English, Spanish, and French
• Marketing site languages: English, Spanish, French, and Portuguese

Tips for better lessons

• Be specific with subjects (“Intro to Python lists” works better than “coding”)
• Finish the knowledge check before your first lesson so content matches your level
• Submit homework before generating the next lesson so progress builds on feedback
• Use follow-up questions for clarifying details, not brand-new topics

Troubleshooting

I signed up but do not see credits.
Sign out and back in, then refresh. Starter credits are granted when your account is first created. If they are still missing, email support.

A lesson failed to generate.
Check your credit balance and try again. If the topic was blocked for safety reasons, try a clearer educational subject.

I cannot ask another question today.
You have reached the daily follow-up limit for that subject. Limits reset the next day in your local timezone, or upgrade to a subscription for a higher daily allowance.

Homework upload failed.
Use a supported file type (common formats such as PDF or images) and keep files reasonably sized. You can also paste your answer as text.

I want to stop reminder emails.
Open Settings and turn reminders off, or use the unsubscribe link in any reminder email.
